From 2017 – 2020, the CDC estimates the United States obesity prevalence is around 41.7%. Pharmacists and approximately 49.1% of US adults have tried losing weight. When a patient has lost a significant amount of weight, pharmacists must consider multiple factors when managing a patient’s medications when they have lost substantial weight. This session will share important considerations and strategies to achieve the best therapeutic outcomes in patients who are losing or have lost substantial weight.
