The study of HIV/AIDS is rapidly evolving. The CDC guidelines concerning the treatment and infection of HIV were last updated in September of 2022. Recommendations concerning monkeypox, co-infection with Hepatitis B or C virus, and C. difficile have been updated. Additional guidance on the treatment of those of childbearing potential, persons who are transgender, those aging with HIV, as well as considerations for patients with substance use disorder are also reviewed. Lastly, new treatment options for HIV prevention are discussed. This cannot miss session reviews changes in guidance affecting community pharmacy practice.
