Community pharmacy is where our profession started and remains a prominent part of the profession. As such, Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) requires all final year student pharmacists to engage in 160 hours of service at a community pharmacy. In 2019, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) produced a guidance document listing Essential Elements for the four core required Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) rotations. Making rotations meaningful and impactful can be difficult. In this session, you will hear about creative workflow adjustments and projects preceptors have implemented into their rotation syllabi.

Learning Objectives:

Define student outcomes for innovative learning activities that may be implemented at practice sites.
Compare learning activities to optimize student pharmacist development and integration during rotations.
Describe at least 3 examples of community pharmacy APPE activities that utilize student pharmacists in a less traditional manner.
