New and Approved: Your Annual Diabetes Update


It was another year of big changes for diabetes care, and you’ll learn about them all right here. We’re covering the recent updates to the American Diabetes Association (ADA) national standards, newly approved therapeutic agents and their role in current treatments, and which strategies are likely to yield optimal outcomes. Diabetes care experts will fill you in on everything you need to know. 


Pharmacist Learning Objectives

At the completion of this knowledge-based activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Summarize important recent changes to the ADA’s Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes and other authoritative guidelines.
  2. Describe evidence for new and emerging trends in management of people with diabetes.
  3. Identify noteworthy findings from recent clinical trials that have the potential to influence diabetes care.
  4. Discuss the application of emerging trends in the care of people with diabetes.
  5. Formulate a patient-centered diabetes treatment plan considering the A1C target, cardiovascular impact, and “egregious 11.”
