Expanding your Scope to Fight HIV: Implementing PrEP in your Pharmacy

Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends PrEP as a key HIV prevention measure. Community pharmacists are well positioned to help combat HIV—including its stigma and associated barriers to clinical engagement.  This session will focus on key components of providing PrEP, including several jurisdiction-specific challenges, infrastructure, and the training necessary to help expand practice. Faculty will explore two models, in Washington and California, in which patients access PrEP care at the pharmacy counter, and will share their successes and challenges.
