The good news: America’s attitude toward substance use disorder, treatment, and recovery is improving. Still, conversations between providers and patients or family caregivers about substance use disorders can be difficult and uncomfortable. In this 60 Minutes–type special, you’ll hear from a behavioral health clinician and primary care specialist who examine the many faces of substance use disorder. You’ll learn strategies for screening, destigmatizing the condition, and starting those difficult but necessary conversations.
