APhA Pain Institute 2020: 59½ Minutes Cover Story: Suicide, Substance Use, and Survival (pre-registration required)

Roughly one in three people who die from suicide is under the influence of drugs, predominantly opioids. Pharmacists must ask the difficult questions: Have you ever considered or attempted suicide? Are you currently thinking about or intending to kill yourself? Preventing suicide is possible, but first you have to know what to look for and how to create an effective plan. Join us for this 60 Minutes–style profile, in which a suicide survivor sheds light on the many symptoms he experienced when misusing substances and the role misuse played in his suicide attempt.

Pre-registration is required; registration is open at http://elearning.pharmacist.com/products/5792/apha-pain-institute-2020-healing-body-and-mind-mental-health-comorbidities-in-substance-use-disorder
