APhA MTR of Residency Accreditation: Learning and Practicing Skills in Quality Improvement (pre-registration required)


APhA Meeting the Requirements for Residency Accreditation: PGY1 Community-Based is designed for participants who have a PGY1 community pharmacy practice residency program that is either preparing for reaccreditation, or is in candidate status for accreditation with a resident currently in the program.

Pharmacist Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

Identify key elements required to have exemplary/quality program materials in relation to:

  1. Learning Experience Descriptions and requirements for patient care service training of residents
  2. Preceptor evaluation of residents
  3. Resident self-evaluation
  4. Resident Development plans
  5. Requirements for practice service requirements
  • Examine and critically evaluate whether sample documents required in the accreditation standard meet PGY1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency accreditation requirements
  • Assess existing PGY1 Community-Based Pharamcy Residency materials and documents and refine/modify them as needed to meet accreditation requirements
  • Create new documents and/or revise existing program materials to meet accreditation requirements
  • Evaluate whether existing pharmacy services meet accreditation requirements
