Townhall: Benefits, Risks and Applications of Medical Cannabis

Description

Patients’ questions about medical cannabis will continue to grow more common. You’ll be prepared to give the right answers thanks to this evidence-based discussion of benefits, risks, and laws. You’ll also learn about the historical context of current legislation and the potential effects of cannabis throughout the body.

At the completion of this application-based activity, participants will be able to:

  2. Using the current legal landscape, discuss health-system policies and procedures regarding cannabis use.
  3. Explain the clinical pharmacology of cannabis and its active components.
  4. Interpret clinical studies with various conditions, including opioid use disorder, to determine the effectiveness and adverse effects of medical cannabis.
  5. Recommend actions that should be performed by pharmacists to improve patient safety issues, manage potential drug interactions, and provide effective counseling for patients using cannabis.
