Radiopharmaceutical Regulatory Updates: Stay in the Know


Confused about recent changes surrounding radiopharmaceutical preparation and regulatory standards? Come to this session to sort it all out. Experts will discuss the new USP chapter <825>, FDA guidance updates pertaining to nuclear pharmacy, and and special considerations for cleaning, disinfection and sporicidal use within a USP 825 compliant facility. This session qualifies as three hours of live law CE.

Pharmacist Learning Objectives

At the completion of this knowledge-based activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss one or more specific situations addressed in USP chapter <825> where there is a balance between standard sterile handling practices and radiation safety considerations.
  2. Recognize how FDA guidance affects the compounding of radiopharmaceuticals.
  3. Recognize the importance of the disinfection process while understanding the need for minimizing radiation exposure.
