Keynote Presentation: Know the Signs, Save a Life: Pharmacists' Role in Suicide Prevention

Your accessibility as a pharmacist means you’re likely to encounter patients struggling with thoughts of suicide. But how can you help people who want to take their own life—especially when they don’t ask for help? Suicide prevention starts with recognizing the warning signs and taking them seriously. Join this eye-opening keynote session and learn how you can save a life by talking to your patients, or by simply listening.

Kevin Briggs, founder of Pivotal Points uses skills developed over his 23-year career with the California Highway Patrol, including training in crisis negotiation, and personal training in mindfulness/meditation to educate communities, mental health professionals and law enforcement on crisis management, mental health awareness and the importance of self-care.
