The Joint Commission Update: New Scoring Methodology


Are you up to date on the newest scoring methodology from The Joint Commission? As the accreditation survey process continues to challenge hospitals and health systems, keeping current with compliance standards and procedures is important. This session will cover the new scoring methodology, the most commonly cited standards for noncompliance, and ways to comply with the standards in the Medication Management chapter. Attendees will receive a new update, activities, and techniques for survey readiness.

  1. Outline revisions to The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, focusing on those with a direct impact for health-system pharmacists.
  2. Identify challenges for complying with TJC medication management standards.
  3. Discuss the changes in the survey process.
