APhA Pain Institute - Ask the Experts: Managing Opioid Tapering (pre-registration required)

Description

Not all patients benefit from opioid use. Some may benefit from opioid dose tapering, conversions, or discontinuation entirely. These situations can be challenging for clinicians to manage. When should a patient’s opioids be tapered and what is the protocol in such instances? What type of situations warrant a physician to stop writing opioid prescriptions for a patient altogether? Come to this interactive session to hear pain management experts explore patient-centered opioid management through a series of complex cases.

This session is part of the new APhA Pain Institute offering a full day of interactive sessions and exciting debates addressing how to prevent opioid misuse, abuse, and overdose while managing pain. Pre-registration is required; click here for more information and registration.
