Evaluating the Cardiovascular Benefits of Antidiabetic Medications

Description

Cardiovascular disease is the primary cause of death among patients with diabetes. Accordingly, the most effective antidiabetic drug therapies not only correct metabolic dysfunction but also protect the cardiovascular system from the effects of hyperglycemia. However, not all new drugs do both. Evaluate the evidence on the cardiovascular risks and benefits of the latest drugs compared with older therapies such as metformin.
