APhA Pain Institute: A Case Study of Opioid Dose De-escalation (pre-registration required)

Description

Not all patients benefit from opioid use. Some patients receiving opioids may benefit from opioid dose tapering, conversions, or discontinuation. These situations can be challenging for clinicians to manage. When should a patient’s opioids be tapered and what is the protocol in such instances? What types of situations warrant a prescriber to stop writing opioid prescriptions for a patient altogether? Come to this interactive session to hear pain management experts explore patient-centered opioid management through a complex case.
