APhA Advocacy Booth

Public policies affect every aspect of how pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and student pharmacists apply knowledge, experience, and skills to care for their patients. APhA’s Government Affairs team works to ensure pharmacists’ voices are heard by the federal government. Stop by the Advocacy Booth for more information about current issues impacting pharmacists at the federal level and learn how APhA builds positive relationships with the elected officials responsible for making policy decisions that affect pharmacists. 

APhA Election/Meet the Candidates

The 2018 APhA Election officially opens for voting at approximately 5:00 pm (CT) on Friday, March 16. Cast your vote online or at the Elections Booth across from the APhA Bookstore. You can also meet the candidates for the APhA Board of Trustees and the APhA-APPM and APhA-APRS Elections on Saturday, March 17, 11:00 am-11:45 am, at the entrance to the Exhibit Hall. Find out where they stand on issues impacting your practice and the entire profession.

Arrangements for Persons with Disabilities

Scooters and wheelchairs are available for rental through Scootaround. Reserve your equipment in advance to ensure your needs can be accommodated. If you have a disability for which you may require an auxiliary aid or special service, contact Nicole Whately at 202-448-8727 by Thursday, February 22.


Business casual attire is appropriate for sessions and events. You may wish to bring a sweater or light jacket to sessions. Check the weather forecast prior to packing as you may require a jacket and umbrella. Nashville average temperatures are 65º daytime and 50º evening.  

Bag and Ribbon Bar

Registration bags, Program Guides, Coupon Books, Annual Reports, Annual Meeting issues of Pharmacy Today, ribbons, neck wallets, and other materials are distributed at the Bag and Ribbon Bar in the APhA Registration Area. We encourage you to download the APhA2018 App for up-to-date information.

Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Registry

APhA is conducting our 9th Annual Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Registry at APhA2018 in Nashville. Stop by Exhibit Halls CD in the Music City Center anytime on Friday, March 16 or Saturday, March 17 to sign up, and on Sunday, March 18, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, to donate. Please consider making a donation and giving the gift of life!  


The Bookstore carries a comprehensive selection of professional books and textbooks. You will also find a wide range of APhA titles and merchandise at discounted prices. Quantities are limited. For information on APhA's digital resources, visit the PharmacyLibrary section of the Bookstore.

Career Center

The APhA Career Center @ connects student pharmacists, residents, pharmacists, and technicians with innovative career opportunities. Our site includes features to help applicants explore jobs based on personal and professional preferences. Create a profile or upload you CV to be eligible for a prize drawing of a $100 American Express Gift Card. Please visit the Career Booth location on APhA Main Street.


Please note that children under the age of 18 are not permitted in the education sessions or the Exposition (to include the Opening Reception in the Exposition). This includes children in strollers and carriers.

Cyber Café & Wireless Internet

The Cyber Café provides complimentary access to the Internet to check e-mail, record CPE, and create your personalized itinerary with sessions, networking, and exhibitor visits. Complimentary limited wireless service is available in the meeting rooms and exhibit areas of the Music City Center.

Education Booth

Visit the Education Booth for information about APhA2018 education sessions, continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credit, and many other APhA education and training activities. 

First Aid and Nursing Room

First Aid is located outside Hall B of the Music City Center. For emergency assistance, dial 1300 from a house phone. The Nursing Room is located outside Hall D of the Music City Center.

"Friends in Pharmacy" to Honor Paws for Veterans

We are honored to have representatives from Paws for Veterans with us during APhA2018. Paws provides psychiatric service dogs, training, and therapeutic group sessions to veteran and active duty men and women struggling with post traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury. Please give generously at one of the kiosks located at the Bookstore and outside of the General Sessions. Supporters may enter a drawing for a complimentary full conference registration to APhA2019, March 22-25, in Seattle. There are two ways to enter the drawing—donate a minimum of $5, or purchase the student T-shirt in the Bookstore. Also, look for the paw print floor logo at exhibitor booths—your badge swipe will equal extra donations from that exhibitor! Visit for more information.

Headshot Café 

Visit the Headshot Café on Saturday and Sunday, 11:30 am–3:30 pm, for a complimentary professional headshot. Stop by Rite Aid Booth 523 during Exposition hours to receive your headshot voucher.

History Display

APhA held the 1913 and 1996 annual meetings in Nashville. Stop by to view our wonderful collection of memorabilia from those meetings, including the 1913 Convention Badge. See how times have changed! Learn more about APhA pharmacy leaders during those times and the topics that interested them.

Information Central

Visit Information Central for general assistance during the meeting, customer service needs, and to assist you with additional information on all conference activities. In addition, you can seek assistance from APhA staff, identified by their green staff ribbons and/or APhA blue shirts.  

Invitation Letter for International Attendees

The U.S. Department of State is the official United States Visa information source with information about visa requirements, U.S. embassy and consulate locations worldwide, and wait times for visa interview appointments/processing. Travelers are advised to apply for visas well in advance of intended travel dates. Although APhA may not provide official travel endorsement, a Letter of Invitation is available by completing the Letter of Invitation Request Form

Mobile App and Program Guide

The primary methods of providing comprehensive information about Annual Meeting activities is via the APhA2018 Mobile App and Program Guide, available in February. If you require assistance downloading or navigating the App, stop by Information Central on Main Street. Hard copies of the Program Guide are available on a limited basis at the Bag Bar.


Any person who attends an APhA Annual Meeting event grants permission to APhA, its employees and agents (collectively “APhA”) to record his or her visual/audio images, including but not limited to, photographs, digital images, voices, sound or video recordings, audio clips, or accompanying written descriptions, and, without notifying such person, to use his or her name and such images for any purpose of APhA, including advertisements for APhA and its programs.

Spouse/Guest Information

A separate registration fee for spouse/guest registration is offered. Included in spouse registration are the Opening Reception, Closing Reception, and Exhibit Hall. Note that the education sessions are not included, nor is CPE credit offered.
