Contributed Papers Program Call for Abstracts
The Call for Abstracts opens Monday, July 24, 2017.
The American Pharmacists Association Education Committees invite you to submit your abstracts for APhA2018, held March 16-19, 2018, in downtown Nashville, TN. All investigators are invited to submit abstracts on topics pertaining to pharmacy practice and pharmacy-focused scientific research. Projects must address issues relevant to practicing pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmaceutical scientists.
Deadline for submission is Wednesday, October 4 at 5:00 pm EDT. Abstracts are not be accepted after the due date.
Authors are required to identify: topic area, abstract type/category, practice area, research area, and relevant financial disclosures.
Notification of the status of submitted abstracts are delivered via e-mail to the presenting author of each poster abstract in December. Please note that it is the responsibility of the presenting author to contact all other abstract authors.
It is the responsibility of the presenting author to:
- Register to attend APhA2018.
- Be identified on the abstract submission as the presenting author.
- Be present during the “Meet the Researchers” poster session on Saturday, March 17, 12:30 pm-2:30 pm.
Posters accepted for presentation are available for viewing during APhA2018. Set up takes place on Friday, March 16 and posters are displayed in the Exhibit Hall on Saturday, March 17, 9:00 am-6:00 pm and Sunday, March 18, 9:00 am-3:00 pm. The Meet the Researchers poster session will take place on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 12:30pm-2:30 pm.
Poster size is 45" by 90". Push pins are provided.
Financial disclosures must be displayed on posters. APhA adheres to all requirements of the ACPE Standards for Commercial Support in order to ensure all presentations, including poster presentations, provide fair and balanced pharmacy education. Relevant financial relationships with any commercial interest must be disclosed on posters.
Abstracts may be selected for podium presentations during the Day of Science on Friday, March 16. Podium presentations are scheduled in 20-minute intervals, with 15 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for questions. Podium presenters are required to prepare a slide presentation in advance and are notified in December.
All poster and podium presenters must be paid registrants. Unregistered presenters at APhA2018 are considered withdrawn and are not be published. Registration opens in September.
Journal of the American Pharmacists Association
Accepted abstracts are e-published in the May/June Journal of the American Pharmacists Association (JAPhA). Abstracts submitted as Encore Presentations are not published in their entirety; for these, only the abstract title, authors, and original citation are published in JAPhA.
